Description
Xerox Copier Assistant™ software enables users who are blind, visually impaired, in a wheelchair, or have limited dexterity, to access and use Xerox digital devices for basic copying. This software increases user productivity by leveraging features such as an enlarged on-screen user interface, embedded text-to-speech software, and keyboard navigation buttons including tab, arrow and function keys. The software is loaded onto a Windows 2000 or XP Professional PC connected to select CopyCentre™, WorkCentre™, WorkCentre™ Pro and Document Centre™ 500 series systems. The text-to-speech software talks the user through the copying steps, including advanced tasks such as stapling, collating and two-sided copying. (Currently only available in English.)
Currently, no other manufacturer of digital copiers provides an alternative to the touchscreen user interface for walk-up copy jobs on so many models. This makes Xerox's CopyCentre, WorkCentre, WorkCentre Pro, and Document Centre 500 series the most Section 508-compliant copiers/printers in their class.
